About me

Hello! I'm Pareesa, and I'm on an exciting journey to pivot my career from Biotechnology to Software Engineering. After 6 successful years as a Research Scientist, I’ve embraced new challenges and am eager to bring my diverse skill set to Software Development.

My fascination with Software Engineering was sparked by attending multiple lectures from the Computational Science department at my previous job. These experiences informed and encouraged my decision to pursue this new career path. My background in scientific research has endowed me with strong problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of delivering results, which I believe will seamlessly translate to my new role in software development.

To prepare for this transition, I completed an accredited Front End Engineering certificate from Turing School of Software and Design. I am committed to continuous learning and staying ahead in this ever-evolving industry.

Originally from Maryland, I am now based in San Francisco, bringing a diverse background and unique perspective to the tech hub of the world. My background in Biotechnology has provided me with a unique perspective. I am adept at critical thinking and data analysis, and I am eager to apply these skills to elevate web development. I thrive in dynamic environments and am motivated by innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration.

I'm passionate about connecting with Software Engineers and learning from your experiences. If you share my enthusiasm for the field, let's connect! I am open to opportunities, collaborations, and insightful conversations.

A multi-user application offering support and education on pet ringworm. Treating ringworm in multi-pet households can be overwhelming and requires vigilance to avoid re-infection. The best prevention knowledge comes from those who foster ringworm-infected animals, but this information is often scattered across forums and social media. RR aims to centralize this valuable, tried-and-tested education to help households successfully eradicate ringworm.

RR provides educational articles, a scheduler for users to track their pets' medications and appointments, a dashboard to monitor all pets, their symptoms, and medications, and will soon offer a support forum for users.

Rancid Tomatillos, much like Netflix or Hulu, is a movie directory in which users are brought to a main dashboard with posters of a set of movies. Upon clicking a specific movie poster, the user is taken to another page with additional information on each movie (release date, synopsis, rating, genre, and more). Users may also filter movies from either lowest to highest rating, or highest to lowest rating and use the search bar to search for a specific movie by title, the search bar works on change such that the movies are filtered instantly without having to press a search button.
