About me

I am transitioning into software development after many years in education. I have always had a knack for logic puzzles and problem solving. People often come to me for advice and to help them solve a problem. My eagerness to help and my logical way of thinking make me an easy to approach and efficient problem solver.

I was previously a STEM tutor and English teacher in Taipei, Taiwan as well as an ESL teacher in Beijing, China. Before I was shaping minds abroad I was traveling to dozens of different countries around the globe volunteering to make the world a more eco-friendly and peaceful place. I spent almost 3 years between India and Haiti, volunteering to grow trees to reforest a desertified part of India or giving fruit baring trees to families in Haiti to plant in their home gardens. I went to university for Zoology and spent some time working for animal rescues before beginning my travel journey.

I decided to attend Turing School of Software & Design after hearing and seeing the changes that it brought to some of my closest friends. They encouraged me to unlock my potential which had been dormant while I was gallivanting. I finally followed their advice and I'm loving my choice. It has been so rewarding so far and I'm learning so many new skills in programming and networking. Now with my certification in backend software engineering I am pivoting to a new career path focusing on software that really benefits humanity. I also wish to use my skills to share them with the next generation and to give back as much as I can.
