About me

Puzzles and problem solving make my world go around! After several years of puzzling through plant science experiments, I’m excited to apply my passions and skills towards software development. Through my time at Turing, I have found quite the zeal for the logical reasoning of programming, and enjoyed taking on a role as a peer mentor to guide others through their own learning. I've especially enjoyed building and testing APIs and working with database queries in SQL and ActiveRecord.

In my free time I love hiking and knitting. I like to collect houseplants and my future dream home is just a large greenhouse where I grow most of my own food.

Because of my passion for nature, I am interested in work related to sustainability and environment. I would also love an opportunity to work on tech that assists researchers, like I used to use as a bioscientist.

If you have a diverse team of folks who are driven to make an impact, I’d love to be part of it!

Refugee Aid (Or Refuge) is an application where organizations that host or offer aid to refugees can post requests to the general community, such as for food donations or language translation help.

Compassionate citizens of the community are then able to use the website to search for aid requests in their city to see if there is anything they can offer their time and resources to.

**Data included in the deployment is seeded data for demonstration purposes and is not intended to represent any real organization and their needs.

OnTrack is designed to help people who struggle with executive dysfunction.

There are a lot of options for what you can do in a day. Some are necessary chores, and some are fun hobbies. Someone with executive dysfunction often struggles to make a decision on what to do or where to start, and might end up doing nothing at all, not even the fun things. This often leads to poor mental health.

OnTrack helps by prompting one task at a time, to prevent decision paralysis for the user. The application lets users input their chores, as well as hobbies and self-care activities, and then cycles through these tasks so the user's life has a healthy balance.
