About me

I am a former band instrument repair technician who decided that a complete career change was in order. I loved what I did, but I was tired of work being busy when my family was out of school. After talking for months with a number of friends, I decided to enroll at Turing School of Software and Design to pursue options in the tech industry. I feel that tech will allow me a significant number of options where the limited nature of my old career was a bit stagnate. A personal bonus is that tech still fulfills my desire to fix things.

I have spent nearly two decades doing complex step based logic processes while repairing instruments. Likewise I have spent that time honing my interpersonal and networking skills through customer interaction and mentor/ training of other technicians. Now I am just learning how to apply those to new fields through my journey at Turing.

I am still very doe-eyed with all the potential options I can choose from in the tech field so I do not have a hard job target in mind. I would love to be able to work for a company that helps provided services to other families in some way as family is a driving factor myself. I may be later to the game, as it were, but I aim to apply my hard work and dedication to a great end result wherever that may be.

Hungry and tired after a day at Breckenridge? Looking to find somewhere that's fun, good vibes, and close enough to walk?

Find it with Après-Ski!

The web application geared towards snow sport enthusiasts looking to find their post slopes food & drinks to round out a good day.

The capstone's challenge was to pitch, design, build and deploy two micro-services: a back-end RESTful API, and a front-end React web application. However, there was an added twist. Each team had to implement a new technology for this project, something that they had never worked on before. All in two and a half weeks! The BE team chose to code in Python/ Django and the FE team built a React App using Redux, Typescript, Bootstrap and Mapbox.
