About me

Hi 👋 my name's Logan

I'm a veteran whose always enjoyed learning new things, building tools, and perhaps most of all - helping people. After my time serving, I now get to use my technical skills as a software engineer to make the lives of others appreciably better!

I started my professional career as a logistics officer in the U.S. Army. I enjoyed leading soldiers and being met with an incredibly diverse set of problems everyday, and my time in the Army allowed me to work with an incredibly diverse array of team members as well as let me travel the world. One of the things I enjoyed most during this time was being able to solve process problems leveraging technology. While many solutions and tools I developed were simple such as lookup tables to consolidate data across many spreadsheets, or more complex - like calculators to determine the expected rate of logistics expenditures during war-time operations, I often gravitated towards using technology to solve problems.

After my time in the Army, I got my first taste of a technology company by working on an operations support team. On this team, I got to continue using new tools to solve the problems of team members with basic HTML/CSS and JS along with analytics and query tools like GBQ and Google Analytics. It was at this time when my ‘hacky’ tools started to be implemented across an organization of several hundred and I found I was enjoying taking programming courses in my free time I decided to take the plunge into software engineering, by joining Turing.

Upon graduating from Turing I plan to attend graduate school for a Masters of Computer Science at Northeastern University so that I may continue growing both my fundamental understanding of computer science as well as hone my skills in engineering. While I have yet to settle on a specific industry I continue to enjoy working on personal projects, meetups, non-profit work, and open source. Oh, I almost forgot I’ll also be working on honing my parenting skills starting February 2024!

If you’d like to chat please don’t hesitate to reach out, I’d love to discuss what you’re working on or any opportunities you might know about.

Quick! Help Speckle catch some fish with your spelling prowess! Speckle is a novel children's game aimed at supporting spelling proficiency. In this application, children will be able to listen to a word and then try spelling it on their own. If they get it right, Speckle will catch one fish and be one step closer to a full belly. If they don't quite get it right, they'll be shown what letters were slightly off and try again.
