About me
Hi, I'm Victor Sriqui, and I'm a Front-End Developer. I grew up in the DC metropolitan area and moved to Denver, CO about 7 years ago. I love board games, national parks, and going to art exhibits. The one thing I miss about living in DC and Maryland is the crab cakes.
I've been self-employed, working pop-up jobs and gigs for the past several years. The ambition I had to sign up for a code camp is that I wanted to make a transition to more stable work. What made me fall in love with it is that it sort of reminds me of the same feeling of trying to solve a puzzle, being stubborn about getting it, and the sense of accomplishment when I finally do. I think my humor, industrious work ethic, and friendliness would be welcome at any workplace.
I received an undergraduate degree from Maryland in Social Psychology with a minor in Statistics. I worked with a volunteer organization and did data entry for sub-organizations of HRC for a couple of years. I also received an MS in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus. There, I received instruction in, but not limited to, theory, forensic software, packet sniffing, some bash scripting, and network diagnostics.
I'm currently a student at Turing.edu School of Software and Design. There, I learned how to work within groups of fellow coders and developed skills including but not limited to React-Router, Vanilla JS ES5 & ES6, Cypress, Mocha and Chai, Websockets using ActionCable, RESTful API, PWAs, Styled-Components, CSS, SASS, HTML5, Accessibility, and GSAP animations.
Technologies that I'm currently learning about and thinking about creating side projects for include TypeScript, the Kaboom.js library, and Node.js.
You can reach me at victorsriqui@gmail.com. I may be in school, but I'm always looking for a job!
