About me
I am originally from Colorado where I grew up hiking, biking, camping, and being outdoors in general—all which developed a curiosity exploring the history and geography of a place. I have a decade of experience in the grocery industry where I developed a passion for produce, quality, and sourcing that took me to many different parts of the company I worked for. From the sales floor, the back of house production, the logistics side in the regional warehouse, and multiple stores across many regions of the country. In that time I also embraced leadership roles taking charge of subteams responsible for sales between 20-30k a week and where I grew profit margin and enacted more efficient systems through collaboration with my team of 12 people.
During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, while successfully qualifying for a package car driver position at UPS, I made a pivotal decision to redirect my career path. Trusting my instincts I made a conscious choice to research a meaningful change and pivoted towards becoming a backend software engineer.
This next phase of change aligns with my evolving needs and pursuit of work that challenges and energizes my mind. I’m excited about collaborating with like-minded individuals who share a passion for continuous learning and having an open mind to new ways of thinking and experiencing the world. As I set out on this new chapter, I look forward to leveraging my curiosity, problem-solving skills, and camaraderie in the dynamic field of software engineering. Through collaboration and shared learning experiences, I aim to contribute to innovative solutions while fostering a genuine connection with the people I encounter. This application serves as the back-end of an app that:
Displays a weather forecast for a city on the landing page Registers users in the database and creates an api_key unique to each registered user Allows existing users to log back in Grants users the ability to plan road trips where they see the current weather, as well as the forecasted weather at the destination This application makes all of that possible by exposing multiple API endpoints and formatting the needed data to meet the needs of the front end.
