This project focused on designing databases in order to analyze and display merchant data. I used MVC principles to create this Rails application to interpret the database as well as advanced ActiveRecord/SQL queries to process the data into important statistics. The initial set up was done on a 4 person team. I worked independently to create the additional advanced query features.

Pantry Pilot is an application that allows users to search for and save meal recipes based on simple ingredients found in their pantries. The user can add ingredients to their pantry, including amount and expiration date, and then conduct recipe searches based off those ingredients and dietary restrictions. I was a part of a four person team that developed the project over two weeks. We focused on consuming an external api, serializing the information into a json, and delivering it to our front end - all built in rails. To provide social features, we then expanded to the implementation of new technologies like Background Workers and Amazon S3 to speed up emails and allow for image uploads. My main contributions to the project included setting up the initial framework with consuming the Spoonacular API, passing off the culled and formatted data, and then displaying it on the website. I also built out Google OAuth integeration.
