Howdy! I'm Paulina, a Chicana software developer focused in front end engineering, based in Brooklyn, NY.
Throughout my 9 years of experience as a leader in the customer service industry, I honed my problem-solving skills and developed a strong ability to collaborate in teams. Toward the end of my time there I desired something bigger but I didn't know exactly what that was yet. I began to explore the idea of moving into software development in early 2022. After taking a workshop with Turing, I was sold on the idea of building user interfaces and inspired by the prospect of putting my creativity and problem solving skills to work. I then made the move to transition into this field. I'm excited to flex my skills in a new and exciting way.

This application is designed to give users who are fans of Major League Baseball team The Houston Astros the ability to see information pertaining to the team. The application allows the user to toggle between English and Spanish language for increased accessibility. On the landing page, they see a brief description/welcome to the app, and info about the game the team will be playing on the day the user views the application. If the Astros have no scheduled game on that date, they will see a message informing them and suggesting they browse the full season schedule on the Schedule page. There is also a current roster page which is updated daily with the correct players on the team. The user may favorite any amount of players they want to their favorites page, and view them in the favorite players page.

This app displays featured top-rated items on the landing page. A user can browse products filtering by brand name through a searchbar and/or clicking on a product category. The user can click on any product to see it's details and is able to add or remove the product form their favorites. The user can browse their favorited products and filter them by brand and/or category.

Embrace the power of the constellations as you embark on a journey through the enchanted universe. Select your (or a loved one's) star sign on the home page to be directed to that sign's page. There, you can select what time period you would love to receive an astrological reading from. Choose today, yesterday, or this week - you will see a reading based on that choice. You may favorite a reading and view it in a favorites page by clicking the star displayed below the reading. Navigate to your favorites page via the star icon on the top right of the page. Unfavorite any readings that no longer serve you if you wish.
