About me
At the end of my enlistment in the United States Air Force I was faced with the decision of whether to re-enlist or separate. As much as I loved it, I felt that my impact was limited. I decided to explore a different path. Core values that drive my work are accountability, perseverance, integrity, and community. I was drawn more towards a career path where I could utilize my core values of accountability, perseverance, integrity, and community in a way to positively impact others, and I have found that in software development.
I chose Software Development because of the community it seemed to have. There weren’t tons of careers that I saw that were as inclusive as Software Development. Having two Brazilian parents and learning Portuguese as my first language, I have a goal to bridge a gap and introduce Software Development as a career option to others with similar backgrounds. Contributing to the inclusive community in software development is appealing to me. The idea of being able to work with anyone, from any part of the world, regardless of background, is amazing to me and it’s where I see myself having the maximum level of impact and community involvement.
