As I transition from a successful 20-year career in the restaurant industry to pursue my passion for coding, I am excited to bring my unique perspective and experience to the tech world.
At my last position as Regional Director for a small Denver restaurant company, I honed my leadership and management skills while overseeing multiple locations. I was responsible for hiring, training, and maintaining high morale among the team members, as well as ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Throughout my tenure, I consistently improved profitability and year-over-year cost reductions.
Now, as a front-end developer specializing in JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS, I am eager to leverage my skills and knowledge to contribute to a company that aligns with my values and mission. For those new to Denver or the tattoo scene, navigating the abundance of local tattoo artists can be overwhelming. That's where this app comes in; by utilizing the keywords that artists use to describe their work, users can easily sort through and find the perfect match for their desired style.
This project was an opportunity for me to fully exercise my creativity, from ideation to execution. With complete ownership, I was responsible for developing the idea, designing the user interface, implementing the functionality, and even creating a custom API using Express. Through this process, I was able to push myself beyond my limits and produce a project that reflects my passion for innovation and attention to detail.

Our group project was centered around an interactive trivia app that challenges users to become the ultimate trivia wizard. The app allows users to choose their preferred category, generating 20 questions that test their knowledge on the selected topic. The questions are initially displayed without answers, allowing users to make their best guess before revealing the correct response. Additionally, the app features a 'favorites' page that enables users to save and review their preferred questions across any quiz they take. Users can also easily remove questions from their favorites list at any time. If the user wishes to switch categories, they can easily return to the home screen and select a new topic to continue their quest towards trivia mastery.
