About me

Hello, my name is Alex Mora and I am a software developer based in California. I have a passion for building efficient, robust, and scalable software applications that provide value to users. My technical skills include expertise in Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, SQL, HTML, CSS, and ActiveRecord, as well as experience with design patterns, workflow tools, and test-driven development.

My recent projects, such as Lunch & Learn, Viewing Party, and Little “Esty” Shop, demonstrate my ability to design and implement complex software applications with different requirements, using APIs, advanced database techniques, and service-oriented architectures. These projects also showcase my proficiency in testing, error handling, and authentication.

Before transitioning to software development, I worked as a Heavy Equipment Instructor for the Military and a Maintenance Computer Tech for Barstow Unified School District. These experiences taught me the importance of collaboration, attention to detail, and self-motivation, which I bring to my software development projects.

I recently completed a Back End Software Engineering program at Turing School of Software & Design, which provided me with 2,000 hours of project-based learning in data structures, object-oriented programming, and building database-backend web applications. This program enhanced my skills and allowed me to collaborate with peers and instructors in a remote environment.

In summary, I am a driven and passionate software developer with a strong background in technical skills, collaborative work, and self-learning. I am excited to bring my skills and experience to a team that values innovation and excellence in software development.
