About me

I’m a back-end engineer with over 9 years of project management and business development experience. I aim to use my experience and problem-solving skills to build and maintain reliable code. Prior to becoming a back-end-engineer, I’ve worked on the facing side of businesses, over time my attention shifted toward product development. I’ve always tinkered with hardware, and have had a natural gravitation toward logic based riddles and problem solving. While in previous positions I would find myself casually learning systems and understanding its true capabilities. After realizing I had an affinity toward learning code, I decided to shift my career and migrate my business development experience into software engineering

This project has a React frontend and a Rails backend and allows users to rate cocktails based on their preferences and then be recommended cocktails based on similar rating patterns of other users.

During this project I mainly worked on the Google Oauth. This is also the first project where I used Javascript for the Frontend. My primary goal during this project was to begin touching new frameworks that I was unfamiliar with. Here I was able to implement an age check on the landing page in Javascript that saves a user data for future use. This project gave me great insight into working on larger teams with varying backgrounds.
