I entered the workforce under very different circumstances than those that I had planned for, and had to re-imagine what my story would look like quickly. After struggling with mental illness and housing insecurity, I was privileged and lucky to find a new normal. I found fulfilling work, first in the new tech of digital surgical textbooks, and later in providing IT support for Blue Sky Animal Clinic's entire team. I worked with integration teams to allow all of our equipment to talk to our management software. This was some of the most engaging work I had ever been involved in, which pushed me to look for the next step. Researching database utilization, I found that a lot of incredibly important information was very hard for individuals to access. I enrolled in the Turing school's accredited Back-End engineering program to develop the skills needed to get assistance information to underserved populations. I am excited to move into a new career and grow my skills in back-end development.
