About me
My affinity for building things began at a young age. I was a Lego junkie spending endless afternoons creating anything and everything imaginable, quickly followed by refining the design until I was satisfied. That same early drive to optimize continues today. This past year for fun, I was thrilled to 'break' the high score for two of my favorite tabletop games (digital ver). In Ascension, I unlocked infinite scoring, and I maxxed my Dominion high score 1,700%.
This penchant for design led me to a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines (CSM), followed by 14+ years working in custom equipment manufacturing and turnkey conveyor systems. Working in fabrication honed my ability to troubleshoot production issues and do hands-on problem-solving, often on the shop/assembly floor. However, industry instability and not very challenging tech, led me to switch focus to my family's investment rentals. As a property and general manager for 5+ years, I applied my adeptness with data/spreadsheets to personally oversee 100% of all accounts, projects and finances for 17 units.
Now with the properties squared away, I'm inspired to return the challenging comp-sci route that was unfinished at CSM, where I was enthralled by coding C++ (and Fortran prior). Quite simply, I'm eager for the rush from creating, learning and building new tech.
