About me

From an early age, service has always been important to me. This led me into both the military and the field of social work. While my time in both was impactful, my hope is to create lasting change by way of technology.

While in the Marine Corps I learned to be selfless and work as a unit. I also learned that I prefer a kinder form of action. During my time as a direct service social worker I worked a huge variety and saw how much help the most in need required to change their lives for the better. I also felt more like a gatekeeper than someone who helped.

Moving to macro level/policy level social work, I found that I could be part of actions that helped huge swaths of society at once. So much of getting engaged and doing “the work” required using tech as an integral tool. It was what sparked my interest in development.

I want to learn and work to make tech accessible to those who need it and can use it for good.
