Rails Engine is a Rails E-Commerce Application that focuses on a service-oriented structure, where data is exposed to the front end through an API. The purpose of this project is to learn how to test and expose an API, use serializers to format JSON responses and further the understanding of advance ActiveRecord queries in order to analyze information stored in the database.

QuickCommand is the Turing School of Software and Design Module 4 capstone group project.

It is an organization application that provides personnel assignment for an emergency response supervisor and response to incident details for assignees.

The backend web application connects the client side through 13 JSON API endpoints. Each endpoint allows for basic CRUD functionality for the intended user to display both open and closed incidents as well as show what contacts are associated with the incident once an incident has been declared, create a personnel for a given incident, search for both contacts and incidents and more.

Receiving current weather forecasts where an incident is active ties this functionality into the Weather API Service, while calculating the distance that the personnel is away from the incident using Mapquest's developer API allows for the user to see how quickly personnel can be to the scene of an incident and assign the appropriate people for the job. Both external API services are built using the lightweight Sinatra framework and integrating the data from the external APIs all the way up the pipeline to the frontend application to render.

Virtual Viewing, made easy. Add friends, create parties, invite your friends to the parties!

Viewing Party is a User web application for creating and tracking movie viewing parties. Users can register for an account with an email and password. This application interacts with the MovieDataBase API so movie information is always up to date. Add friends to your profile via email. Find the top rated movies or search for your favorite movie by title, if you want to watch it - you can! Once the perfect movie is selected you can create a viewing party and selectively invite your friends!

Weather Vine is an educational app for consumers to connect more deeply with the wine they enjoy. Explore wines from a region and see how the climate has influenced the very wine one drinks! This application uses Google Oauth2 for user login functionality and incorporates a Rails front end application, a Rails engine and a Sinatra microservice that connects external API services World Weather Online for historical climate data and Quini Wine for wine description, style, type, region and vintage data.
