About me

I’m bartender turned Software Engineer. I’ve always had a knack for solving puzzles and building things. I’ve found that programming is the perfect combination of the two. I have found that my years in the service industry are a great asset as I look to serve the needs of a client. I can use my talkative nature to engage a group, while my attention to proper planning enables successful projects. I’m really excited to work hard for a company that prioritizes not only their profit, but their impact.

The job search can be a long and drawn out process. JobQuest was created to make the process more interactive and engaging! As a JobQuest member, you can choose what type of quest you feel like doing. There are passive, supportive, and active quests. Each quest has a number of actions required for ‘slaying the monster’ and thus conquering the quest. At JobQuest, we want to engage the user and help the quest for a job a little more fun!

Get That Flight Out is an app that encourages the user to get a cheap flight out of town. This project is a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) application that provides users with flight and weather information based on search parameters that the user provides. This project has a front-end and back-end repo, as well as two micro-services that make API calls to the Kiwi API and OpenWeather API. The user can choose flight details (duration of the trip, expected departure date) or the user can choose 'Lucky' to allow for the app to choose their final destination. (How fun!) If the login user, chooses to not use the 'Lucky' option then the flight options are returned filtered by the weather of the destination.

The user will then be able to see the flight details and the weather for that particular time in the destination. The user also has the options to explore accommodations with either or AirBnB.

The hope of GTFO is to allow the user to quickly, cheaply and easily get the flight out of town!
