About me

Experienced musician, singer-songwriter, and creative thinker. I strive to find beauty and artistic expression in everything I do, so programming is no exception. Recent world and life events afforded me the opportunity to begin a career in software development to explore my interests and curiosities, while helping my community (and beyond) in new ways I hadn't yet explored through software engineering and frontend development. Past endeavors in design, crafts, and sewing have led to a passion for sustainable fashion and minimal waste-living (especially in the realm of slow-fashion). I strive to cultivate a life of creativity and responsible-living where I can help better the world working with a company that shares my values in improving the world we live in.

The purpose of this project is to build a comprehensive web app from start to finish, using React, React Router, and Cypress for testing. A niche audience is in mind to create an MVP that has a specific user in mind. In this case, Lyric Lava is a songwriting app for those who are suffering from writer's block. It utilizes the Words API and generating random prompts, as well as a thesaurus and rhyming resource when the user is writing out lyrics for a song.

BookWorm is a web application for young readers (third-fourth grade) to track the progression of the books they are reading, utilizing React, React Router, React Hooks, API endpoints, async JS, D3, and SCSS. We created user stories and wireframed them in Miro, implemented code in React Components, rendered GSAP and CSS animations, and collaborated on data visualization elements with SVGs drawn in Figma. This was a coordinated endeavor with Front End and Back End team of 5 to build over the course of 2 weeks as the final Capstone project.
