About me

I enjoy finding the most efficient way to solve a problem while creating accessible and attractive websites for users to experience. Before making my career change to web development, I was a Civil Engineer, and enjoyed collaborating with a team to find the most effective solutions for the project and for the client. I aspire to join a team that values collaboration, inclusive and accessible design, and developer growth.

Have you been longing for a trivia night with your friends? In the remote reality we're currently living through, I know I was really missing out on the experience of getting together with friends, having a few drinks, and playing some trivia. Triviology solves this problem by providing one application to combine the two aspects of a trivia night: drinks and questions. Information has been provided by two public APIs: The Open Trivia Database and The Cocktail DB.

Primary goals included: identifying a niche audience to build an application for, gaining experience writing user personas to consider while building an application, and building a final application utilizing React.

The primary goal of Rancid Tomatillos was to display movie data from multiple APIs in a user friendly way and to gain experience building an application from scratch using the React framework. As a user, you have the ability to view all movies from the API, as well as search for a specific title, and view additional information about the movie by clicking on a movie card.

Last summer, as wildfires were raging across the western United States, residents who live and recreate nearby were often faced with the decision of whether to be active outdoors in the first place, and if so, where to go. Hikers, runners, cyclists, dog walkers, and more could have used an app that brings in up-to-date weather and air quality information by location to help make that decision.

ActivAir solves this problem by tapping into data from the IQAir AirVisual API. Users can view data for their current location, add and remove other locations, get advice on whether it's safe to recreate outdoors given the AQI for that area, and click to view trail recommendations for each location on AllTrails.
