About me

I'm a Front-End Software Engineer with a passion for providing value to users through efficient and user-friendly designs for products that solve real-world problems. 

With a background as an Executive Assistant working at both a leading global consulting firm, and a small start-up, I'm a strong collaborator with keen attention to detail who delivers high quality results in varied environments. I transitioned to my new career as a software engineer after seeking more fulfilling work. I fell in love with the hands-on nature of coding, the problem-solving, and the endless opportunities for learning and growth.  

I'm looking to work in a forward-thinking company where I'm challenged to continuously up-skill and where I get to work with an engaging, and supportive team.

LienFlash is a client backed app built for a team of lawyers who have experienced frustration in dealing with the Lien filing process. This app was developed with two front-end developers (myself and one other) and a back-end team. The focus for our MVP was to create a viable user interface to give our client a basis to build the app out more in the future. LienFlash is a Progressive Web App, it can be used in the browser or it can be installed on a desktop or a mobile device. The app allows a user to login as either a general user (client) or an admin. Users can create a new job, track that job in the lien process, and submit the job info to an administrator when they are ready to submit a Notice of Intent, Lien, or Release of Lien. Users are sent SMS notifications to remind them of upcoming deadlines.
My areas of focus:
Front End Development while working with a Back End team, and working with a client to execute their ideas and bring them to life.

ReadMe is an application built for avid readers with the New York Times open API. Features include; ability to search by book name or author, users can add books to their 'Reading List', users can click on a book to view the book's blurb, and with the click of the button users are redirected to the books listing on Amazon where they can purchase the book. This app was built for a group project during Module 3 of Turing School of Software and Design.

My areas of focus: Implementing Redux (for the first time) for global state management. Solid UI/UX for positive user experience.

Edible. is a web application designed for plant lovers who want to start foraging for wild plants. The user is able to filter the plants being displayed by 'edible part' categories; roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, fruits, and also search for plants by common name or scientific name. The user can save plants to their Saved Plants page, and also remove plants from this page. This app was a solo project developed with an open API, Trefle.

My areas of focus:
Using an open API and manipulating the data to work with the application.
