About me

I am a passionate and hardworking individual who wants to make a difference in the world through software engineering. Cliché to a certain degree, I know, but I value diversity within teams, and I plan on making positive and well-needed changes within the software industry. I have worked in healthcare, food, and customer service, which have all contributed to my strong background in human relations and who I am inherently - a proud bilingual Latina. I look forward to connecting with you!

This is an app that allows users to plan road trips. It allows them to see the current weather as well as the forecasted weather at the destination. It is a service-oriented architecture. The front-end will communicate with your back-end through an API. I had to expose that API that satisfies the front-end team’s requirements (viewed through Wireframes).

My areas of focus:
Expose an API that aggregates data from multiple external APIsExpose an API that requires an authentication tokenExpose an API for CRUD functionalityDetermine completion criteria based on the needs of other developers

"Monster Shop" is a fictitious e-commerce platform where users can register to place items into a shopping cart and 'check out'. Users who work for a merchant can mark their items as 'fulfilled'; the last merchant to mark items in an order as 'fulfilled' will be able to get "shipped" by an admin. Each user role will have access to some or all CRUD functionality for application models. The app was completed within 9 days.

My areas of focus:
Use built-in ActiveRecord methods to join multiple tables of data, calculate statistics and build collections of data grouped by one or more attributesCreate routes for namespaced routesUse Sessions to store information about a user and implement login/logout functionalityUse BCrypt to hash user passwords before storing in the databaseWrite raw SQL queries (as a debugging tool for AR)Create respective views
