About me

I have spent the last ten years working in laboratory sciences and research. These experiences have allowed me to hone skills vital for precision and innovation. As the former head chemist at the University of Florida's Lakewatch program, I led the analysis of 500+ water bodies, fostering a keen eye for detail, teamwork, meeting deadlines, method development, and training technicians.

Now, I am looking for new challenges which has led me to software development. I bring a unique blend of analytical thinking and leadership to this dynamic field. Whether it's crafting meticulous code or collaborating with diverse teams, my laboratory background has prepared me to excel in the fast-paced world of software.

My passion for problem-solving and commitment to excellence drive me to create elegant, efficient solutions. I'm eager to connect with like-minded professionals, explore new opportunities, and contribute my skills to projects that push boundaries.

This project was an exploration in designing and building an API that serves as the bridge between the backend data and the front-end user interface. It is essentially a farmers market lookup. It implements best practices in data modeling, database management, and API development to ensure reliability and performance. In this project I explored the use of serializers to format JSON responses. I also worked on error handling and created custom error messages.
