About me

Passionate about accessibility and inclusivity. Driven by curiosity and connection.

After a decade of working in mental health and disability, I'm thrilled to be bringing my patience, empathy, and perseverance to the world of software development. My experience working with individuals and care teams toward an ever-evolving, but common goal has fostered my strength as a team-player who is invested in a comfortable and accessible experience for my team and our end user.

My experience in leadership and organizing means that I excel at breaking down concepts into individual steps, which allows me to translate between product and engineer.

In my spare time, I love hiking, textile craft, and collecting cookbooks. Did you know that a weaving loom is the reason we have modern computers? Let’s talk about it.

Finding a bathroom in public can be tricky, but for people with particular accessibility needs, it can be a nightmare!

LavLink allows a user to search for public restrooms in their area that meet their criteria. Users can stipulate whether they need a wheelchair accessible bathroom, a unisex bathroom, or a restroom with a changing table. This ensures that trans people, caregivers, and people with mobility equipment know exactly where they need to go when they need to go!

LavLink users can use their current location to find restrooms in their immediate area, or plan ahead by entering another location. They are provided with a list of results along with a map. By clicking on a listed restroom or map marker, they are redirected to a page to view further information about the bathroom (address, map, comments, upvotes, etc.) and a way to leave the app to pull up directions to the restroom from their current location.

A mobile-first design means this app is designed to work on any phone, but has a responsive design for those with larger screen needs

A React app that fetches movie data from a REST API and allows users to search and browse for movies. Upon clicking a movie poster, a user is routed to a new new URL to view the detailed information for each user.

The app features: Swiper slides for easy browsing, a search bar to find movies by name, and embedded youtube videos so that a user can watch trailers and feature clips without leaving the website.

The app is tested with Cypress
