About me
Greetings, my name is Beth and I am a Front End Software Developer with a passion for developing cutting-edge applications and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging products. With over 7 years of experience in the tech industry, I began my career as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer before deciding to further my education and transition into software development.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in developing Web-based and Mobile applications, utilizing Agile methodology, working with E-Commerce platforms, and have developed a strong understanding of usability and design. My unique perspective allows me to ensure that customer requirements are successfully and individually identified and addressed, leading to successful project outcomes.
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, walking my beloved dog Jimmy, and immersing myself in nature. As an avid skier, I am passionate about being outdoors, whether it's on the beach or in the mountains.

This was a group CapStone project with a combined Front End and Back End team. For the first time at Turing, I was given the opportunity to work collaboratively in an agile workflow to build an application. The project demonstrates knowledge I've gained throughout Turing as well as exploring new technologies. The Front End and Back End team implemented graphQL for the first time and used CircleCi for continuous integration.
User flow: As a user I can Create a Trip to view a predetermined list of packing essentials and activity items. As a user I can view a list of created trips. As a user I can view an itemized list of packing essentials and activity items. As a user I can delete items in my item list. As a user I can add items to my item list.

Paw Paths

Tools Used
Welcome to Paw Paths! This is an app that allows you to browse a collection of hikes and parks that are dog friendly, search for a specific type, view 5 random hikes or parks in a carousel container, and view individual details of a path. It is a path tracking application which introduced me to Express, Knex, and PostgresQL as well as strengthening my understanding of React and Cypress; taking place over 9 days to complete. The learning goal was to implement a 'Stretch Technology', which my group chose to be backend, learning to build a database and create a table schema with seeded data. We were able to deploy our backend API on Heroku, connecting to the PostgresQL DB, and then fetch the data with the provided link on our frontend. In addition, we implemented a responsive design for mobile and tablet.

Welcome to Sour Apples! Here, I have built my first React app that allows you to browse a collection of movies, search for specific movies by title, and view individual details of a movie on a separate page. This was a movie tracking application introducing me to React and Cypress testing; taking place over 10 days to complete. Our learning goals were to implement React fundamentals, testing React components and asynchronous JS, refactoring and adding fetch calls, and creating a multi-page UX using Router.
