About me

I'm a front-end engineer, former SLP / business owner / university instructor, and forever lover of all things language-related. I'm seeking a dynamic job that pushes me to put my creative problem-solving and organizational skills to good use. I thrive on teams that recognize the importance of both flexible, collaborative partnerships and solo focus time. I am equally comfortable and capable in leading and following roles.

A pragmatist at heart, my passion is efficiency - finding ways to work smarter and still turn out a fantastic product that wows the user - that's my jam. In my previous professional settings, I enjoyed a solid reputation as an organized, effective problem-solver, a strong communicator, and a builder of proficient systems. I have experience in EdTech and MedTech, but am open to any team that likes to get stuff done.

I'm comfortable working with JS, React, HTML, and CSS, and am currently learning Node, GraphQL, and MongoDB.

Nominated for Turing's Demo Comp!

The goal of this project was to a) self-teach and implement React Context API, b) provide an interface for users to meaningfully interact with data pulled from an API. In Art Party, users can click on a specific painting and view its details, and create their own meme. If a user is particularly fond of their meme, they can save it to their gallery (preserved on LocalStorage). Features seamless multi-page routing, effective error handling, React hooks, and an upscale design.

Got Baggage is a full-stack application, built to satisfy Turing School of Software and Design's Mod 4 Capstone project assignment. For the first time, we were given the opportunity to work collaboratively on combined front- and back-end teams to produce a full-stack application. The project demonstrates knowledge we've gained throughout Turing as well as exploring new technologies we taught ourselves for this project (GraphQL and Circle CI).
