About me

When pursuing a career, the desire to have a meaningful impact on people's lives has always guided my choices. This desire originally led me to a career in the field of social work. It is also what led me to take the leap and transition into the field of software development.

I see technology as a way to impact people's everyday lives on a large scale, through a focus on accessibility and empathy-driven development. My social work experience taught me to center empathy in all that I do and I bring that same perspective as a developer. As a teammate, I value open communication, honest feedback, and the ability to adapt. As a developer, I prioritize the identities and needs of the eventual end user of any technology I am creating.

The experience of shifting careers and learning a brand new set of skills has instilled a love of learning in me. I am truly excited to continue my career as a backend developer where I will continue to learn new skills and face new challenges every single day. I am interesting in connecting with companies that share my passion for creating accessible applications for every type of user and promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
