About me

Hi, I'm Nick! Music (specifically guitar) has been a passion of mine ever since I was twelve years old and that passion lives on to this day. Learning guitar was hard work and I was quite bad at it when I first started. I continued to struggle night after night, even waking up early before we had to leave for school to get my morning reps in. After seeking some guidance from people who were better than me and putting in the many hours of effort I eventually became... NOT BAD!

This experience has taught me, at an early age, that there is value in attempting to achieve the difficult. Often times, the goals that seem the most daunting are also the most rewarding. I have taken this value to heart in all I have done since.

I am a Software Developer who loves problem-solving, creating, teaching, and being surrounded by people who are smarter than me! I want to make the world a better place and better myself doing so.

This was our first project in React. It utilizes both class and functional components, Router, and Cypress testing. When the browser loads, the user is taken to a home page where they can view a list of movie posters. If the user clicks on a movie poster, they will be taken to a page that lists details only about that specific movie. When a user is at the movie details page they will see a button that will navigate to a page where that movie's trailer can be viewed and another button that can take them back to the homepage to view all the movie posters again.

Welcome to SquadFinder! This is an app made for video gamers who want to join up with other gamers to play the games that they love. Upon starting up the app, the user is prompted to log in to a profile. Once selected, the user can view their personalized list of video games, start a search for new video games to add to their collection, and invite other gamers to a 'Squad' event. Once a Squad has been created, it will appear in the users' 'My Squads' section, where they can view all of their upcoming Squads, who has been invited to each Squad, and the date and time of each event. Our application gets all of our data from our back-end API, which sources the video game data from RAWG API. RAWG is a video game database that has over 800,000 video games, so our users will be able to find whatever games they like to play, on whichever platform they prefer.
