About me

I am a problem solver moving from the physical world to the digital. Getting my hands on a puzzle excites me, especially when the solution helps others reach their own potential. Writing code and working with my hands scratch many of the same creative itches. I love the details and the lateral thinking, the planning and the on the fly solutions, the excitement of the initial proof of concept and the final polish.

I have acquired a tremendous amount of experience in a seemingly disparate variety of fields. This breadth of experience has provided me a unique set of skills and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people. A common through line in my employment history is the combination of management of small teams and independent self direction on projects. I enjoy being given a complex task and the resources and people to see it through to completion.

Is today the day? Is this it? Will we be going the way of the dinosaurs? NASA may have the answers. This app utilizes NASA's Near Earth Object (NEO) API to to take a look at the next week of near misses. Feel free to sort the data by date, wether the object is potentially dangerous, or by how close it will come.

To be clear, this app is for entertainment purposes only. While it does use scientific data, absolutely no attempt at analysis has been made.

This project is designed as a means of demonstrating individual comprehension and ability in React with the addition of Cypress testing, React Router, and an external API call.
