About me

I am a Back-End engineer who comes with a heavy background in agriculture and forestry. The thing that I loved most about farming was looking at an empty field before the season and watching it slowly build into something that I could be proud of, and I believe that feeling is both persistent and enhanced with the work I find myself apart of today. I am excited about this new chapter of my life and I cannot wait to see where I end up and what I can bring to the tech community!

Plant Connect is a project I worked on with 2 other back end engineers and 4 front end engineers. The app will allow users to set up an account to sell or buy clipping, seeds, and other plants to other users.

The back end had a stretch tech goal of using websockets to have live messaging and I believe we did it very well!

Spinspot was a project that I completed with 5 other back end engineers in module 3. The idea of the app is for users to be able to type in a topic and to be given back 3 articles related to the topic from a left leaning, center, and right leaning news organization respectively. The articles are then filtered through a TLDR api to be condensed so as to try and filter out biased rhetoric. The app has both a front and back end repository on github and both are deployed on heroku.
