About me

TEAMWORK makes the DREAMWORK.

Prior to Turing, my last 10+ years revolved around fitness and nutrition. I've coached 6000+ hours of CrossFit group class, competed for 5 years on a CrossFit Games (2014, 2015, 2017) team, competed 2 years for USA Weightlifting Nationals (2014, 2015) and have played many roles in the gym setting, including management, administration, programming, membership sales, and community outreach. I.LOVE.TEAMWORK. I thrive in collaborative environments and love working with people to reach a certain goal. Whether that is in fitness or tech, I'm your gal.

From Lexington, KY -> Philly, PA -> Salt Lake City, UT -> Denver, CO, I found myself ready to close the fitness chapter and start anew. That's when I discovered tech (thanks to my husband, Nate). What started as a brushed off "I can't do that' idea, blossomed into an 'I might actually like this!' outlook. I began looking into workshops online and dabbling in HTML, CSS, and JS. The problem solving, puzzle-like, logic driven, creative aspects of code really excited me! (And still does!) So I took the leap of faith, applied to Turing, and haven't looked back since.

With 15 years of team experience, I have found the similarities in working in tech projects vs competing in CrossFit. There are ups, there are downs, there are conflicts, and there are agreements. But in the end, the main goal remains clear: Set your ego aside and remember "There is no I in team".

I have learned to be adaptable, reliable, motivated, disciplined, and persevere in difficult situations to get the job done. I work hard especially knowing there are other people working with me and relying on me. Brainstorming and problem solving with like minded folks really gets me goin'!

I am ready to take these skills and apply them in this newly created tech chapter. Let's have some FUN!

hi-lo is a weather app designed to allow the user view weather in their area by searching by city and state. As the user types a city in, a drop down suggestion box loads and they can select a city from there. Once selected, they can click the search button and a card will pop up with the local city weather details. If they are looking to dive a little deeper into the forecast, the user can select the card and be directed to a new page that displays a more detailed forecast as well as the next 4 days. The forecasts can be saved or removed from favorites and also persist on reload of the browser.
